St Peter's Choir

Music is important to our worship and St. Peter’s Church Choir sings at the 10.00am Parish Communion, the 6.30pm Evensong Sunday services and at weddings when requested.
The Choir is affiliated to the RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) and treble choristers follow the ‘Voice for Life’ choral training scheme to learn vocal technique, music theory and how to be a reliable and enthusiastic member of a team. It is quite demanding for the younger choristers to learn a new style of music, unusual vocabulary, new rules and customs and they need plenty of encouragement, patience and support.

The choir currently consists of 13 Trebles and Sopranos, 2 Altos, 2 Tenors and 1 Bass. It is always on the lookout for new members (previous choral experience is welcome but not essential). More adults (altos, tenors and basses) are always needed. Treble Choristers - boys and girls from 7 years+ - are welcome. Head Chorister is Phoebe Werrin.

Choir rehearsals take place weekly on Fridays at 6.15 – 7.30pm (trebles), 7.30 – 8.30pm (adults) and Sundays at 9.30am and 5.45pm, just before the services. Please contact David Friel, Director of Music on 07759 827 190.
