CHRISTIAN AID SWIM - Sunday 21 January

Between the 17 swimmers they managed 1,046 lengths, a magnificent total. It equals 26.15km or 16.15miles, which averages nearly a mile per person. What a great team effort, including Stephen, Helen and Ian as lane counters.

The fund raising total on Just Giving is going up all the time, we're up to £660, that's 43% of the target, so do keep up the great work to support Christian Aid. Let's try and smash our £1,500 target. www.justgiving.com/fundraising/2018stpeterschristianaidswim. Please contribute to the fight against poverty and the underlying causes of poverty.

Toilet Twinning - HELP FLUSH AWAY POVERTY - A Water and Sanitation Initiative
We’ve been caught short!
The PCC on behalf of the congregation have decided to toilet twin our lovely, newly re-furbished church hall toilets. 2.4 billion people don’t have a loo. About a third of the world’s population have to use fields, streams, rivers, canals, railway lines, roadsides, plastic bags or disease-ridden buckets.
Toilet Twining raises funds to enable people living in poor communities to have clean water, a basic toilet, and to learn about hygiene,
a vital combination that helps end generational poverty.

We are hoping to raise £480 to twin our men’s and women’s toilets with two toilet blocks in a school with no toilet or a refugee camp. So far, we have raised £90 towards that total and are now going to make a final push (please forgive the toilet puns) to raise the full amount by Christmas.
