St Peter's Choir

The Choir is affiliated to the RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) and treble choristers follow the ‘Voice for Life’ choral training scheme to learn vocal technique and music theory.

‘Singing lies at the heart of worship. Voice for Life has a valuable part to play in giving life and soul to us all as we worship and learn.’ Dr. John Rutter

The younger choristers are encouraged as they begin to learn a new repertoire in dedicated sessions and by the support of older choristers.

The choir currently consists of 6 Trebles, 3 Sopranos, 3 Altos and 3 tenors / basses. Head Chorister is Rosie Stubbs, who has been singing with the choir since she was 8.

The Choir is always on the lookout for new members (previous choral experience is welcome but not essential). Treble Choristers - boys and girls from 8 years+ - are welcome. We are always delighted when any new adults join the choir.

Choir rehearsals take place weekly on Fridays: trebles 6.15 – 8.00pm trebles, adults 7.30 – 8.30pm, and Sundays at 9.30am and 5.45pm, just before the services.

The new Director of Music is Simon Palmer and you can contact him on 07932 791 717 or sfp1549@gmail.com.

The choir will be singing a full Choral Evensong - with different responses and canticles - on the last Sunday of each month and Simon Palmer will be inviting other singers and soloists to join in.
